Suikei was a herbalist who published a number of picture books illustrating useful plants. This gallery shows the 101 pictures of lilies that he included in a two-volume book entitled Yuri Zufu (Lily Picture Album). Click on a picture to enlarge it. This book was published in 1896. Suikei drew his lily subjects accurately but surprisingly the written text did not include their scientific names.
